Reflections

Madrid, New Mexico , the  window is the front of an art gallery.  Madrid is an old abandoned mining town that was taken over by artists.  There are a number of stores and galleries to visit plus a lot of interesting things to paint.  This is oil 16"x20"  stretched canvas   $300.00

Red Barn

I did this plein air painting in the summer of 07, in the Metamora Mi. area.  I have been painting in this area for about three years.  The area is known for its rolling hills and horse farms. There are also a lot of trees so it's easy to find a shady spot to paint in.

At the Pow Wow

In October of 07, I was in Mesa Arizona and attended a pow wow.  I took a few hundred photos and did some drawings.  I am working on a series  and this is one of the paintings.  The temperature while attending the pow wow was around 95 degrees. The dancers were in full costume, some of the costumes were quite heavy, they were not sweating  as much as I was taking the photos.  This is an oil on stretched canvas 11"x14"    $500.00

Young Girl

I was invited to paint plein air at a lavender festival. I met this young girl.  She was very interested in having her portrait done, and I was also interested in painting her. I  did a small watercolor that her mother really liked and purchased.  I then asked her mother if  her daughter would like to come to our Monday night portrait painting session and model for our group, this is the painting I came up with. I feel I captured her  sweetness and  youthful energy.  This is an oil on stretched canvas, 11"x14"  $150.00

Paco's Courtyard

Went on a group trip to Mexico, while  there we visited  Paco's home and studio  a well known potter . I was able to purchase some hand painted plates with exciting bullfight scenes, very contemporary.    His home was very old and  charming, we  had a delightful time talking art and eating.  This painting is a section of the courtyard, at his home.  An oil on canvas 11"x14"   $150.00
