Thomas Road

The location for this painting was Oxford, Mi.  Around the barn there were beautiful flowers, every color you could think of.  I  enjoyed  this location and just had fun with  color.   11"x14"  oil on stretched canvas   $150.00  I also managed to put in a fellow painter . 

Jerome

I bet you think this scene is in Italy, well it is actually, Jerome, New Mexico.  A great place to visit, it is also home for a number of artists .  If you like the mountains you will love Jerome.  Oil on stretched canvas 16"x20"  $350.00

Cloudy Day

I decided to paint this barn from the road looking up through the weeds for a little different perspective.  The day was very cloudy and a bit windy, I tried to capture those conditions.  Oil,  16"x20" on stretched canvas   $300.00

Near Santa Fe

This painting was done from photos I had taken the last time I was in Santa Fe, New Mexico.  The painting was done on hot press paper,  the two papers I like working on are  Arches hot press and Arches rough.  Watercolor is 9"x12" , also matted for $75.00

Rainy Day

Usually our plein air group paints out on Sundays during the summer.  This past Sunday it was raining but I decided to go paint anyway.  It was  a difficult  challenge to capture the rainy condition.   The watercolor is 9"x12" and matted  $75.00

Hollyhocks on Oakwood Road

I like to do plein aire watercolors as well as oils.  I had already done an oil at this farm in Oxford, Mi. and decided to do a watercolor ,hollyhocks are one of my favorite flowers. It is matted and is $75.00

Hay Rolls

Scripps Mansion

Sheryl

Besides being a good model ,Sheryl is also a very good singer.   Our group has painted  her a number of times. Old Tug Boat

We were driving along the west coast of Michigan, near Holland  and came across an orchard with an old tug boat  in the middle of it.  We decided to stop and paint , it was a lovely afternoon.  This is oil on stretched canvas  16"x20"   $350.00

Sunflowers

This was painted up in Traverse City. Mi.  It was  a beautiful sight , hundreds of acres of sunflowers.  I have a painter friend who lives up in Traverse , I get up there often to paint with her. This is oil on stretched canvas 16"x20"    $350.00  

Silo

  The barn burned down many years ago  and this was all that was left standing, sort of a monument to the past.  It was a very sunny bright day, we were fortunate to have large trees to paint under.  This is a 9"x12" oil on stretched canvas $150.00

Mackinac Island, Michigan

Mackinac Island is a wonderful place to visit and to paint.  There are no cars to contend with, just a lot of beautiful scenery and buildings.  You can walk, ride a bike or take a horse and buggy .  I never get tired of visiting this island.  This is an oil on stretched canvas 16"x20"  $350.00

Old building in New Mexico

I love to paint old wood buildings they have so much character  the wood has so many beautiful colors.  The  sky against this building made  a beautiful painting.   This is oil on stretched canvas 11"x14"   $150.00

Drummer

This painting was done from life.  The model was a drummer in a band in the 60's  and hasn't played in years . He thought it would be interesting to model with his old drums that he had to take out of storage.  We all enjoyed painting him and had him back a second time.  This is oil on stretched canvas 11"x14"   $150.00

Old Buckboard

This painting is of an old buckboard  in New Mexico, You see a lot of them around.  This is an oil 9"x12" on stretched canvas    $150.00

Out Houses

These old out houses were painted at Lakeville Lake in Lakeville, Mi.  The owner of  the boat rental  and out houses belong to a friend of mine.  Its a great place to go fishing and watch the sunset.

Woman from India

This painting was done from life.  It won a Best of Show , in Dec. of 07 at the Lawrence Gallery in Ferndale Mi.  This is oil on stretched canvas 9"x12"   $400.00

Crazy Teapot

When I am not working from a live model or painting plein air I am looking for new subjects . I was in Marshall's one day and noticed a number of interesting teapots , so I bought a couple ,  needless to say I have found another interesting subject that I will be painting,  time to time.  This is oil on stretched canvas  9"x12"   $150.00

Delphene

Delphene was one of our Monday night models.  She modeled for us three times each  time in a different clown costume.  I will be posting the other two.  I very seldom do clowns so this was a real treat.  This is oil on stretched canvas 9"x12"  $150.00 

Wolcott Mill

This painting was done at Wolcott Mill, Romeo Mi.  It was a hot day and the bugs were pesty, in spite of the conditions I was happy with the results.  This is an oil on stretched canvas 16"x20"  $400.00

Reflections

 Madrid, New Mexico , the  window is the front of an art gallery.  Madrid is an old abandoned mining town that was taken over by artists.  There are a number of stores and galleries to visit plus a lot of interesting things to paint.  This is oil 16"x20"  stretched canvas   $300.00

Pow Wow 2007

This painting was done from a photo taken at a powwow in Mesa Arizona in October of 07.   I love the shadows that were cast across his face almost looking like war paint.  I sensed the feeling of great pride.  This is an oil on stretched canvas 16"x20"    $600.00

Clay Pots

This painting was done in Santa Fe.  I loved all the large clay pots and the chickens and roosters wandering around, there must have been a quarter of an acre of every kind of pot .  This is a large oil painting  around 40"x40" on stretched canvas  $1000.00

Rooster
